SCENE 1

{THE PRINCIPAL OF KUNLE’S SCHOOL IS SEEN INHIS OFFICE TRYING TO ANALYZE SOME DOCUMENTS SENT TO HIM BY THE FEDERAL MINISTRY OF EDUCATION AND THERE WAS A KNOCK ON THE DOOR WICH CAUGHT HER ATTENTION}.

Principal:               (Knock on the door) yes, who is that?
Kunle:                   It is me sir. Kunle Adegbenga.
Principal:               Ok come on in.
Kunle:                   Ok sir, thank you very much.
Principal:               So how are you and how is your studies?
Kunle:                   Fine sir, I was just coming from home and my class teacher told me that you want to see me sir, hope all is well.
Principal:               No problem, I just want to console you on the death of your beloved father who passed away over the weekend. The information just got to me yesterday, may God console you better.
Kunle:                   Amen (sobbing).
Principal:               Don’t cry, don’t loose hope you still have a father do not let his death weight you down just pay attention to your studies and may God help you.
Kunle:                   Amen.
Principal:               Beware of bad company and God will see you through.
Kunle:                   Amen sir, please I beg to take my leave to my class. (He stood up to leave).
Principal:               Come Kunle (he brought out N500 note and gave it to him).
Kunle:                   What!!! (surprised) all for me?
Principal:               yes, you deserve it. Buy some things and take care of your self.
Kunle:                   Ok sir, God bless you and it shall be well with you (excited).

{HE RAN OUT OF THE PRINCIPAL’S OFFICE AND HEADED FOR HIS CLASS}.
LIGHT FADES.

ACT 2
SCENE 2

{KUNLE IS SEEN ENTERING HE HOUSE. HE GREETED HIS MUM AND TOLD HER THAT HE WAS GOING TO FARM THAT EVENING}.

Kunle:                                       (opens the door) Good afternoon mama.
Mama Kunle:         (stood up and went towards him to hug him) God afternoon my son, how was school today?
Kunle:                   Fantastic mama. You know what?
Mama Kunle:         Let me hear.
Kunle:                   (Brought out the money) my principal gave it to me to buy something.
Mama Kunle:         (Surprised) What!! Only you? Well the good Lord has provided. We will make soup today, go to the back of the house I prepared some food for you. Guess what I prepared?
Kunle:                   I’m not good at guessing mama.
Mama Kunle:         I prepared your favourite, yam porridge.
Kunle:                   (Jumping up) yes, yes, yes thank you, you are the best mum in the world.
Mama Kunle:         When you eat finish you will rest. I am going to the market to get our soup ingredients.
Kunle:                   When I finish eating, I am going to the farm to do some work, you know our maize are getting matured.
Mama Kunle:         (Surprised) no don’t go anywhere you are just coming from school, you have to rest your brain…….
Kunle:          But mum I am not complaining, please let me go to the farm. The bursar has started disturbing me for my school fees.
Mama Kunle:         Ok, go but on one condition
Kunle:                   What condition is that?
Mama Kunle:         You will no stay long.
Kunle:                   Mum I promise I will just spend 2 hours.
Mama Kunle:         Ok (already wans to leave)
Kunle:                   Ok o dabo oooo!!!!.

{HIS MUM LEAVES AND WENT TOWARDS THE DIECTION OF THE
MARKET WHILE HE LEAVES FOR THE BANK YARD}
LIGHT FADES.

ACT 2
SCENE 3

{IT IS A COMPLETE MONTH THAT KUNLE CAME TO SCHOOL AND WHEN HE CAME, HE PAID HIS SCHOOL FEES AND WAS LEFT TO HAE ACCESS TO THE CLASS. ON THAT DAY, THEY WERE STARTING TEST AND HE ALSO PARTICIPATED. HIS CLASS TEACHER IS SEEN MARKING THE TEST SCRIPT AFTER THE TEST AND HE WAS SURPRISED AT WHAT HE SAW WHEN HE GOT TO THE TURN OF KUNLE}.

Mr. Shedrach:                 Kai, I have never in my life seen this type of performance. Which student is this (he checks the name) Kunle Adegbenga. It is a lie, he cheated. (he looked through his window luckily Kunle was passing, he called him) Kunle! Kunle!! .
Kunle:                             Sir (he looks towards the direction).
Mr Shedrach:                  Come to my office now.
Kunle;                             (afraid) heee!! What have I done Eledumare hope I am not in trouble (he knocks his door).
Mr. Shedrach:                 Yes, come in.
Kunle:                             Thank you sir.
Mr. Shedrach:                 How did you do this your test because I can’t find any mistake in this work.
Kunle:                             During my one-month stay at home, I was busy reading and at the same time going to the farm.
Mr. Shedrach:                 Ok, you will prove it to me now and whatever you score in his one is what I will record for you, do you hear me.
Kunle:                             Yes sir.

{MR. SHEDRACH TORE A PIECE OF PAPER AND GAVE HIM ANOTHER DIFERENT QUESTION}.

Mr. Sherach:                   Take, solve this.
Kunle:                             Ok sir, (he saw it as a simple question).

{KUNLE SLOVED IT AND TO MR. SHEDRACH’S SURPRISE, HE SCORED EVERYTHING}.

Mr. Shedrach:                 What! You scored everything, I believe you. Take this N1,000 as a gift. You surprised me.
Kunle:                             (Stretch forth his hand and collected it)Thank you sir.
Mr. Shedrach:                 You can now go back to your class. (he leaves) I have never seen this type of child, I wish I have this type of child, his parents are lucky. I even heard hid dad is dead. May God help him.

{HE CONTINUED MARKING THE REMAINING SCRIPTS KUNLE WAS JUBILATING IN THE CLASS}.
LIGHT FADES.
