HOPELESS, YET WE BELIEVE IN LUCK. BY ADEGBITE ARINOLA

We pray to God to guide you through the night,
We crawl under your table to pick remnant,
We are ready to take away your lack.
We are hopeless yet we believe in luck.
We gather in front of your mansion to seek help
Our weak bones are getting older.
With barefoot we run after your car.
We run from pole to pole to survive.
We seek refuge in our tattered cloth.
Under the rain we pray for mercy.
The cold weather feed on our skin in frenzy.
We pray in our heart that you won't lack.
We are hopeless, yet we believe in luck.
We seek grace on your behalf
We seek refuge under bridges.
We wandered forth in despair.
During parties we struggle for leftovers.
The sun pierced fiercely into our skull.
We are hopeless yet we believe in luck.
