I SEWED MY SOUL - BY IKOROMASOMA EMMANUEL

I sewed my gentle soul
Not to the devil but to
Fame, knowledge and riches
Instruments of death and despair
Trapped in the web of evil
Stage managed by the Devil.
Betwixt the mid of the night
My mind embattled in  bargain
Staging the devil and God
My fate Ungirded from the
Dress of my precious mind
Seeing offers of devil to mankind.

Fame and knowledge I'll give
And Warman at your will
To study and your Orthoepy
Will attractively attract her touch
In bed not like the Garden
He claims, he placed in Eden.
Mankind on your watch
And power at your foot
Like the soul of our feet
Thou be wiser than wisdom
Which Solomon never had
Sell your soul to me Lad!

Mistake not hell for dell
Difference is clearly a dee
Said, He'll give you money and riches
And all the fancies of this world
Even the Garden of lust "Wife"
But can he give thee Life?
I'll give thee Salvation
The key to everlasting life
And everlasting  life, the foundation
To those offers and demands
I'll take thee to a higher ground
To a man whose gift profound.

Mind not, nothing is in salvation
Only but bogus Christianity
A religion that binds and blinds our
Eyes of the truth and real world
A world built in wonders for few
Allegiance is all thou need do!

The truth and real world he says
A euphemism for dreadfulness
A bivouac of evil and pride
Where death is but inevitable
Would thou want to die?
Or serve the most high?

He calls me the devil am not
But better the devil thou knoweth
Than the Angel thou do not
Come with me to my throne
Where affluence binds us
Like Marlowe's Dr. Faustus.
He speaks of Dr. Faustus's
Affluence but not his doom
how he sold his soul for gold
Son, its left for thou to choose
Between God, Evil and fame
The only end to this bargain.

Oh if I had sewed my soul
Would have sold it to God
And not to Devil the beast
In the cloak of a  sheep
This is not my last chance
Only but a mere awful trance.
Then I woke up and realised
Nothing is either good or bad
Only the mind makes it so
And same mind a stage bargain
For good, riches, wealth and evil
Manipulated often by the devil.
