THE FORGE
Like travelers to a wonderland
We arrived at your gate
Some with blank slates, others half full
We were all filled with expectations
My journey started at Bupaf
The sacred meeting point for ‘newbies’
We gathered there
Aloof and confident in our knowledge
We munched along with our food
Gory and funny tales alike

It’s been three years since
And with patience I have learned to live
With the good, bad and ugly
My frequent trips to the chapel
Like a clay to a potter
Though sometimes we made with reluctance and grudge
Have thought me to find meaning
Not in my law books and friends
But in life and its purpose
I would call you my alma mater
But I have yet years to spend
Roaming your walls
Eager to soak up every drop of wisdom
Even though the journey seems unending
And the burden overwhelming
I will play the part to earn the prize
For I know I will be better when I am gone.

GLOSSARY
*Bupaf: the popular name for ‘sumptuous’ cafeteria.
